My name is Geoff Styner, I am the Owner/Driver of the Styner Motorsports #15jr Sprint Car. I grew up in Trenton, N.J. and had racing in my blood from the beginning. My father Bob, used to race Midgets with the SMRC,ARDC, and select USAC shows. Our home track was Fleminton Speedway. As I became older, all I could think about was driving my own sprint car. Dad took a pretty nasty ride back in 1985 at Flemington, that ended his career as a driver. When we moved to Florida, I began working for a couple of local stock car guys. I missed the thrill of the sprint cars, until I found Eastbay Raceway Park in Tampa,Fl. I found a new home! I could not stop thinking about racing at Eastbay against the likes of George,Leonard, Allen and Millium. In 2005, my chance came. I purchased a Schnee chassis out of S.Dakota and got my Dad back in the game. We spent a couple of months getting the car ready to go. After some practice laps and seat time, we were off to the races. I raced with the USA Sprints for my Rookie year. I met some great people and raced with some of the best. I met a kid by the name of Dakotah Stephens and his Dad. A t the age of 14 yrs. old, this kid was fast and smooth. He is now a FSCA Champion and winning races all over Florida. In 2006 I ran both asphalt and dirt, due to the fact that the USA Sprints shut down. In 2007, well.......things didn't go so well. I lost two motors and just couldn't get luck on my side. 2009 was a great season for the Styner Motorsports race team. We had 8 Top 10 finishes and finished 10th in points against some of the toughest asphalt sprint car drivers in the state! 2010 is a good season for us. Finished 18th in points with the CFSS. Come see a race and feel the rush of Sprint Car racing!
Midway thru the 2007 season, I was asked to drive a T.Q. Midget. As it turned out, this car has over 150 Feature wins and 7 Championships on it. It was driven in the past by a Hall of Famer, Jack Duffy. Jack is still racing and was my teammate. One of the highlights in my career was when I won my first heat race, battling Jack for all eight laps. This man is hard to pass! I finished out the 2007 season and was asked to return to the seat in 2008. 2008 was a great season, 7 top 3 finishes and finished 3rd in points with the FMARA. In 2009, we ran for the T.Q. Championship this season and also run the Sprint Car. Thanks to new team owner Keith Sawyer, I was driving the Beast/Suzuki power # 5.This continued for the 2010 season. We had 4 heat race wins and 4 top 3 finishes. I finished the year 5th in points with the FMARA. For 2011, I will be in new car and with a new team, chasing my first championship!
